Suarez gets the vampire treatment as World Cup bite goes viral

 
 
Luis Suarez just couldn't resist a tasty Italian, it seems.
The Uruguay forward is accused of biting Italy's Ciorgio Chiellini on the shoulder about 80 minutes into the match as the scoreline stood at nil all. Moments later skipper Diego Godin scored to take Uruguay into the round of 16 with a 1-0 win.

Suarez faces possible disciplinary action after FIFA announced it would investigate the alleged bite. But Twitter's peanut gallery has not reserved judgment, laying into Suarez will equal measures of shock, outrage and customary wit.

Many viewers were angry Suarez had not been sent off immediately. Chiellini drew attention to the bite marks by peeling back his shirt and protesting loudly to the referee, but no action was taken. After the match he told media: "It was ridiculous not to send Suarez off. It is clear, clear-cut."
When it comes to biting, Suarez has form. He got his teeth sunk into Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic last April, for which he received a 10-match ban. In 2010, he was banned for seven matches and fined by his then club Ajax after biting PSV Eindhoven's Otman Bakkal.
In a pre-cup "players to watch" piece, satirical news site The Onion had listed Suarez's strengths as: "Knows racial slurs in nine languages; sharp molars in lower jaw; obliviousness to social norms and basic human decency allows him to really focus on playing soccer."
 
The bite soon went viral, with the hashtags #BanSuarez and #cannibal soon trending around the world.
Then, of course, came the vampire memes, which invariably compared Suarez to a vampire or dog.
The response from commentators and sports officials has been bruising. The UK Telegraph ran a headline urging FIFA to "ban this monster", and sports writer Jim White said the incident was self-destructive and shows Suarez "needs help". Guardian sports writer Paolo Bandini said Suarez's third bite was "disappointing" and would cost him dearly.
FIFA vice-president Jim Boyce said the incident will be investigated but it seemed Suarez's actions had left him open to "severe criticism".
There were, however, at least a few who were prepared to look on the bright side.
 
And there were several people who profited from the bizarre Suarez action. It was reported that online gambling site Betsson took 167 bets on Suarez biting a player at the World Cup, at the odds of 175-1. The biggest payout was $3300 (US) to a canny Norwegian.

Feted by the Government’s elite and friend of celebrities, the former tugboat deckhand’s daughter became a favourite of media mogul Rupert Murdoch.
Brooks, born in May 1968 at Warrington in Cheshire, decided as a 14-year-old comprehensive schoolgirl to be a journalist.
No job was too menial as she gained experience at her local newspaper. Her meteoric rise catapulted her to edit the News of the World and then The Sun.
In 2005, she was nicknamed “Ginger Ninja” after beating up then husband, ex-EastEnders actor Ross Kemp.
The couple, who were married in Las Vegas in 2002, divorced in 2009 – the year she was made chief executive of Murdoch’s British newspaper empire.
A few months later she wed former racehorse trainer Charlie Brooks, hosting a reception in Oxfordshire with the guests including David Cameron and then premier Gordon Brown.
When the News of the World was closed in July 2011, 180 journalists were sacked but she stepped down as Murdoch’s right-hand woman with a multi-million-pound pay-off.

Kim Kardashian swam with dolphins in Mexico! NO FAIR

We have yet another reason to be jealous of Kim Kardashian. Not only did she enjoy a mega fancy honeymoon in Mexico with new hubby Kanye West recently, she also got to SWIM WITH DOLPHINS AND KISS THEM. Seriously, what do we have to do to get in the Kardashian Klan?
Kim Kardashian West, as she refers to herself nowadays, posted this cute video of herself and not 1 but 2 dolphins having a swim! The brunette star looked like a total pro at surfing with the creatures and was smiling from ear to ear for the entire video. As well she should! She even stopped to have a pic of herself giving her little Flipper friend a snog. We’re assuming Kanye was in charge of taking pictures. Unless there’s a video of him riding a dolphin still to come, of course…

A source told Us Weekly, “Kim and Kanye did an exclusive, private session with Vallarta Adventures so that they could see the dolphins. [They] were very nice and had a really good time.”
Of course they did! They’re holidaying with dolphins! SO JELL.

It wasn't just Jane Pountney: Katie Price reveals Kieran Hayler cheated on her with second woman

Katie Price has revealed that Kieran Hayler was not just cheating on her with best friend Jane Pountney, but also with another mystery woman.
Speaking on her new show on Fubar radio this morning, Katie told co-presenter Mark Dolan that husband Kieran Hayler had been sleeping with 'another woman  as well as her long-term best friend.
Katie has been chatting candidly about her former pal, referring to her as a 'baggy fanny,' a 'sl**' and a wh***' for hooking up with stripper husband Kieran over a ten month period.
She branded the pair 'disgusting' and 'cruel' for what they had done to the pregnant mum-of-four.

The former glamour  model has opened up about everything from Kieran's affair to her past relationships, and also discussed her plans for the future.
With her co-star asking why Katie doesn't go for a billionaire, who wouldn't be interested in her money, Katie replied that businessmen are usually too private to get involved with her - as she is famous for playing out her life in the public eye.
Katie also discussed her past marriages to Alex Reid and Peter Andre, stating that Pete is 'not a nice person' and that the pair do not have a good relationship - despite having two children together.
Alex Reid however came off slightly better, with Katie saying he's not a bad person, 'he's just obviously got issues.'
On May 7 Katie revealed via Twitter that she would be divorcing Kieran, outing his affair with her best friend Jane Pountney

Saturday Night Live's season finale opened with Jay Z (Jay Pharoah) and Solange Knowles (Sasheer Zamata) revealing the never-before-heard audio from their fight. And all that punching and kicking was because of an uninvited guest

Paul Walker: Hollywood left stunned by death

Paul Walker, a star of the "Fast & Furious" movie franchise, died Saturday, November 30, in a car crash, according to his official Facebook page and verified Twitter account. He was 40.


As the news of his death spread on Saturday, some celebrities, including Lady Gaga and Alyssa Milano, tweeted their disbelief.
Adored for his work in the "Fast & Furious" movie franchise, Walker was in the midst of filming a seventh installment at the time of his
death. Two of his co-stars in the blockbuster series, Ludacris and Tyrese, expressed their grief on social media.
"I can't believe I'm writing this," singer/actor Tyrese shared on Instagram  along with a photo of himself with the late star. "My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real Father God I pray that you send clarity over this cause I just don't understand ... My heart hurts it's broken no one can convince me that this is real.... Prayer warriors please pray real hard for his only child, his daughter and family..."
Ludacris, meanwhile, remembered Walker for his "humble spirit" with a verse: "Wherever you blessed your presence you always left a mark, we were like brothers & our birthdays are only 1 day apart, now You will forever hold a place in all of our hearts."
The 40-year-old actor, who rose to fame in 2001's "The Fast & The Furious" after appearing in '90s hits "She's All That" and "Varsity Blues," died in a car accident. He'd been attending a charity event for his organization, Reach Out Worldwide.

Fans, father grieve death of 'Fast & Furious' star Paul Walker

Paul Walker, a star of the "Fast & Furious" movie franchise, died Saturday in a car crash, according to his official Facebook page and verified Twitter account. He was 40.
Stunned by his untimely death in a car wreck, fans, friends and family remembered actor Paul Walker -- what he meant to them and what he did for them.
His father remembered him as a loving son who wanted to take a hiatus from acting. A fellow actor recalled how he had just celebrated Walker's 40th birthday. And a U.S. military veteran will forever be grateful for a touching act of generosity.
Walker died in a fiery crash in Southern California on Saturday. He was in the passenger seat of a 2005 Porsche Carrera GT, driven by a racing team partner, that slammed into a light pole and burst into flames in the community of Valencia, Santa Clarita, about 30 miles north of Hollywood.
The driver,  Roger Rodas, also died.
Day and night Sunday, legions of fans gathered near the charred roadside where Walker died.
Tyrese Gibson, Walker's co-star in several "Fast & Furious" movies, broke down as he laid a yellow flower at the site.
"My heart is hurting so bad no one can make me believe this is real," the singer and actor posted on Instagram. He also shared the duo's last text exchange.
Remarkable generosity
Tales of Walker's philanthropy are not new. CNN confirmed one story from a decade ago when Walker noticed a young U.S. soldier shopping with his fiancee for a wedding ring in a Santa Barbara jewelry store.
"The groom was just back from duty in Iraq, and he was going to be deployed again soon and wanted to buy a wedding ring, but he said he just could not afford it," saleswoman Irene King told CNN. "I don't think the soldier realized how expensive those rings are, about $10,000."
The couple apparently did not know who Walker was, King said.
"Walker called the manager over and said, 'Put that girl's ring on my tab,' " she said. "Walker left all his billing info, and it was a done deal. The couple was stunned. She was thrilled and could not believe someone did this."
King called it "the most generous thing I have ever seen."
A grieving father
Walker Sr. choked back tears as he remembered his son.
"His heart was so big," Paul Walker Sr. told CNN affiliate KCAL"I was proud of him every day of his life."
The actor told his father that he wanted to take a hiatus from acting to spend more time with his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow, Walker Sr. said.
"And then boom, he got another movie. He would say, 'I don't know what to do,'" the elder Walker said.
He said the actor's siblings are having an especially hard time grappling with the death.
"I'm just ... glad that every time I saw him, I told him I loved him," Walker Sr. said. And he would say the same thing to me."
Future of franchise
At the time of his death, he was working on the seventh film of the franchise, due out next year.
It's unclear how the film's production might proceed. When Oliver Reed died mid-production of "Gladiator," the rest of his scenes included a digitally-produced image of his face on another actor's body, Tom O'Neil, editor of the show business website Goldderby.com, told CNN.
In some cases, other actors have filled in for co-stars who have passed away.
"We don't know what they'll do here, or even if they'll just say, "It may be tasteless to proceed at all because we can't be showing Paul Walker in a speeding car, defying death in a movie that ended up being the way he died,'" O'Neil said.
Questionable speed
Los Angeles Coroner Investigator Dana Bee said Sunday it would likely take 48 hours to officially identify the remains taken from the twisted wreckage. The families are gathering dental records for use in the identification, which is necessary because of the condition of the bodies, Bee said.
Speed was a factor in the crash, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office said. A 45 mph speed limit sign was attached to the light pole knocked down by the Porsche.
The car, which sold for $450,000 when new, is a notoriously difficult vehicle to handle, even for professional drivers, according to Autoweek magazine. A top driver called it "scary," the magazine reported Sunday. It is powered by a V-10, 610-hp engine.
The wreck took place about 3:30 p.m. just a few hundred yards from the shop owned by Rodas. Both men had attended a holiday toy drive for Walker's charity, Reach Out Worldwide, hosted at the shop Saturday afternoon.
Antonio Holmes told the Santa Clarita Valley Signal newspaper that he was at the charity event when Walker and Rodas left for a ride in the Porsche.
"We all heard from our location," Holmes told the Signal. "It's a little difficult to know what it was. Someone called it in and said it was a vehicle fire. We all ran around and jumped in cars and grabbed fire extinguishers and immediately went to the vehicle. It was engulfed in flames. There was nothing. They were trapped. Employees, friends of the shop. We tried. We tried. We went through fire extinguishers."
A crowd of grieving fans, curious onlookers and media surrounded the crash site for hours, watching as investigators and firefighters worked to extract the bodies from the wreckage.
Walker and Rodas had planned Saturday as a day to help survivors of victims of Typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines. The car shop website invited customers to the Charity Toy Drive & Automotive Social Gathering.
"During the holiday season, many economically disadvantaged children from around the world are faced with the same dilemma year after year; the lacking of joy and cheer," the invitation read. "Our goal here is to be able to provide aid to these less fortunate children in hopes of helping them grow up to become confident, responsible and productive young adults."
Walker's charity is described as "a network of professionals with first responder skill-sets who augment local expertise when natural disasters strike in order to accelerate relief efforts."
Box office success
Walker's career began on the small screen, first with a commercial for Pampers when he was 2, and then with parts in shows such as "Highway to Heaven" and "Touched by an Angel."
His first few movie roles were as supporting characters in teen flicks, most notably in "Varsity Blues." But his career really took off when he was cast as undercover cop Brian O'Conner infiltrating a street-racing gang in 2001's "The Fast and the Furious."
The box-office success of the surprise summer hit yielded numerous sequels. And along with Vin Diesel, Walker was one of the franchise stalwarts.
Walker wasn't just a car enthusiast on the silver screen; offscreen, the actor competed in the Redline Time Attack racing series.
On his verified Twitter account, Walker described himself as an "outdoorsman, ocean addict, adrenaline junkie ... and I do some acting on the side."
Walker also is the star of "Hours," an independent film scheduled to be released December 13 about a father struggling to keep his newborn infant alive in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.
