Wedding belle ... Lucy Mecklenburgh has got engaged to boyfriend Mario Falcone

THE Only Way Is Essex could see its first wedding after tailor Mario Falcone popped the question to series babe Lucy Mecklenburgh.

Hunky Mario proposed to Lucy in front of the show’s film crew but TOWIE bosses wanted to keep the engagement under wraps to surprise viewers — and boost ratings.
Onlookers said the Italian stallion took his girlfriend on a cruise on Friday night, where he asked her to be his wife.
The pair had been filming scenes for the ITV2 reality show’s summer special in the cast’s favourite holiday spot Marbella when they headed off for their romantic encounter. But, despite the happy occasion, Mario and Lucy left the vessel looking glum and with no ring on show — in a bid to keep the news a secret.
Young Lucy might also have been nervous about her relationship — as previous TOWIE engagements have ended in disaster.

Former show star Mark Wright split from childhood sweetheart Lauren Goodger after popping the question on the show.
But Lauren looked like she was ready for more romance — as she got friendly with three footballers.
She was showing off the results of a recent diet on Saturday and flirted with Stoke City’s Jermaine Pennant plus Tottenham players Aaron Lennon and Jake Livermore.

And she made sure she kept the lads’ eyes on her, flashing her flesh in a figure-hugging black one-piece swimsuit.
But a few hours of partying later, cheeky Cara Kilbey tweeted a snap of her co-star with her head in her hands with the caption: “I think it’s game over for Lauren Goodger.”

  1. Hey everyone, my name is Charlie and I work with a charity called vInspired. As you are all big TOWIE fans I thought you would like to hear about our #ReverseRiots competition for our new campaign endorsed by Sam and Billie to win the chance to take over Billie or Sam’s Twitter and Facebook profile picture for the day! It’s part of our Do Something UK Reverse Riots campaign, which is aiming to challenge negative views of young people in the run up to the anniversary of last year’s riots by collecting thousands of positive images of young people. All you have to do is get a piece of paper, write a message about something positive you offer the world (anything from ‘I work hard’ to ‘I volunteer’) along with the hashtag #reverseriots. Then just tweet it at Billie or Sam (whoever’s your favourite!) with the #reverseriots hashtag, and you’ll be in with a chance of your pic taking over their profile pic on August 6th. To find out more about the campaign and have a look at Billie and Sam’s positive messages (as well as lots of other celebs) visit www.reverseriots.com
