FURIOUS Nicole Scherzinger was forced to fork out thousands of pounds for a first-class plane ticket — after X Factor bosses booked her into economy.
The singer, 34, was refused a free upgrade by British Airways for her flight
from Heathrow to LA.
So she reluctantly paid £3,500 out of her own money to switch from her £1,200 seat.
An insider said: “Nicole was fuming.
“She always flies first-class but she was amazed to find that she had been booked into economy.
“The X Factor books all of her flights — but she hadn’t expected this.
“Nicole spent 20 minutes trying to get BA to upgrade her but in the end she had to put her hand in her pocket.
“There were a few mutterings about Simon Cowell being a tightwad.”
The former Pussycat Doll, who is dating F1’s Lewis Hamilton, 27, had a tough
week before Saturday’s Heathrow incident.
The new X Factor judge broke down at the show’s bootcamp stage in Liverpool.
Her tears came after it was revealed Lewis partied until 5.30am in a posh London hotel with a group of girls he met clubbing.
Nicole is reported to have “torn strips” off him when he grovelled down the phone.
