Matthew McConaughey stands by shamed pal Lance Armstrong

Lance and MatthewPals ... the actor has insisted his close chum Lance is not a liar despite doping confession

MATTHEW McConaughey has stood by pal Lance Armstrong - insisting the shamed star is not a liar.

The actor was a close friend of the cyclist who confessed to being a drugs cheat in January after years of denials.
But despite Lance's admission, The Wedding Planner star says his friend has nothing to be ashamed of.
He said: "He's not a liar. When it came out, I took it personally but then I realised it ain't personal to him.

No hard feelings ... Matthew McConaughey says he holds nothing against his friend despite being duped
"What was he supposed to do? Call me to the side and go, "Hey, I did this?".
"I'm happy for him now, because despite all this outside conflict, he doesn't have this inner conflict anymore," he told Details magazine.
The pair were frequently spotted out jogging together in the Hollywood Hills.
But Matthew says a hectic schedule and commitment to his family makes hanging out with his friends tricky to fit in.
Wife Camilla gave birth to the couple's third child, Livingston Alves, back in December.
