It only feels like a short while ago we found out Demi Lovato and Britney Spears were the new lady-faces of X Factor USA and we're already hearing rumours of walkouts. We do not want any walk outs, thankyouplease, we've only just about gotten our heads around the fact that Paula Abdul's gone!
According to reports, Britney Spears controversially walked off set during the audition process after one of the contestants sang/ruined her song, Hold It Against Me. Surely our Britters isn't going all diva on us just yet? We'd like a build-up to diva behaviour please, a slow-burning effort, not a speedy walk out.
Luckily for everyone Mr. Simon Cowell has stepped in to say the Toxic singer actually just had a bit of a break.
"There was no walking off. We have breaks every five or six songs. You can go have a cigarette, you can go to the loo (toilet). So as soon as anyone left their chairs, it was reported... that someone had left the show - and they hadn't!"
See! She probably just needed to pee. We know if we had to judge a person murdering a song we love, we wouldn't be able to do it kindly if our bladder was full. No way José.
Could Simon be protecting his new girl? Recently Cowell said of Britney, ““I’m fascinated by her. She’s still hot, she’s resilient and she’s got star power.”
And an insider has apparently told the Sunday Mirror that the media mogul is “smitten” with the singer!
“He goes for bold, brunette women, but he has fallen for Britney’s blonde looks and girly charm big-time.”
Crikey, unscheduled walk-offs, cover stories and a smitten boss? This sounds like the best X Factor series EVER!
