Ashlee Simpson & Pete Wentz split because 'he couldn’t trust her'

Nine days have passed since Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz confirmed their split.
At the time the couple, who have one son together - two-year-old son, Bronx-Mowgli – said, “After careful consideration, we have made the difficult decision to file for divorce. We remain friends and deeply committed and loving parents to our son Bronx, whose happiness and wellbeing remains our number one priority.”
However, all may not be as rosy as it seems and despite the fact Pete and Ashlee have been photographed looking perfectly happy and relaxed in one another’s company since they split – they were even spotted together on Valentine’s Day – we’ve been hearing reports that behind the scenes things aren’t quite as peachy.
A close pal claims, “They have been talking about splitting up forever. Ashlee has been out late partying for the past few months and he felt he couldn’t trust her.”
Apparently Jessica Simpson’s little sis would often be out all night and her Fall Out Boy hubby was fed up of her turning up at sunrise having ‘lost track on time.’
At the beginning of their marriage it was Pete who was accused of having a wondering eye after he was pictured partying with strippers and Playboy models, but in the past few months the roles in their relationship have reversed dramatically.
“He would constantly check in on Ashlee and he’d have his friends call the house and her cell to make sure she said she was where she said she was going to be.”
Since the news broke that their marriage over Ashlee has been staying at her big sister’s house while a source close to Pete claims, “He is crushed, and does not want it to be over.”
But, "Ashlee is done, she loves him, but she's ready to move on."
Oh, this makes us really really sad.
