Prostitute counter-sues over David Beckham libel case

David Beckham libel case
The hooker at the centre of David Beckham's recent libel case is reportedly set to counter-sue the footballer.

Irma Nici, who told In Touch magazine that she had bedded Becks, alleges that she was "injured" by his "people" as they tried to serve her the original writ in New York.

Though his case against the magazine was thrown out of court earlier this week, Beckham now faces another court date in which he will be subjected to "examination before an officer authorised to administer oaths".

According to The Mirror, Nici's lawyer Paul Jensen said last night: "When Mr Beckham sued my client he did so in an outrageous and terrifying way."

Beckham is reportedly furious.

A source told the paper: "The efforts of Nici and her legal representatives to embarrass and humiliate David are utterly disgraceful.

"It appears she is trying to make a name for herself, garner some publicity, and make a quick buck in the process."

The insider added that Beckham "will happily stand up in court and set the record straight".
