POP star BRUNO MARS has avoided a jail sentence after admitting possession of cocaine.
Mars, 25, made a plea deal after being caught with 2.6 grams of the Class A drug in a Las Vegas hotel loo.The Just The Way You Are singer - real name Peter Hernandez - was given a year's probation and fined nearly £1,250.
He also has to do 200 hours community service and eight hours of drug counselling.
The Grammy winner's lawyer Blair Berk said: "Bruno is very appreciative that the charges are going to be dismissed.
"He is going to stay out of trouble for 12 months."
