James Franco must have been really shattered after hosting the Oscars last night, he only went and missed his own Oscar party! The 127 Hours actor bailed as soon as he wrapped his hosting gig which meant he didn't even show his (really very handsome) face at the party which was being held at LA's Supper Club.
James was whizzed off to the airport to catch a plane heading for New York. How do we know? Because Franco kindly tweeted pictures of himself and the airport with the message "Goodbye L.A." scrawled across the bottom. Why was he so keen to get away? If we had spent the past few hours working our bums off at the biggest film awards event of the year we'd definitely want to have a drink or four as well as a boogie after. Well, goody-two-shoes James left because he had classes today and needed to be back in time to attend. Clever James is currently studying a Ph.D. in English at Yale University.
Both James and Anne Hathaway have already come under criticism for their hosting of the ceremony. The New York Times said: "My Franco looked a little distracted and even blasé - not surprising for a multiplatform performer-writer who is working on an English doctorate at Yale." Fair point.
Franco’s grandma, however, reportedly partied the night away at her grandson’s after party. She was out until past 2am! When your granny parties harder than you do, there’s definitely a problem…
