Kanye West ISN'T going to study a masters degree in fashion

With a debut album called College Dropout, it was a bit of a surprise to hear that Kanye West had reportedly applied to study a master’s degree at London’s prestigious Central St Martins College.

Turns out, this was sadly just a rumour. A representative for the university has since dismissed reports that the star applied to be a student there. Gutted, we would’ve loved to have seen Kanye hanging around London with his school books.

Jo Ortman, press officer for Central St Martins, sent an email to Mtv insisting Kanye’s recent visit to the university was nothing to do with wanting to be the next Karl Lagerfeld.

“Kanye West is not enrolling in [the] Ma Fashion [programme] at Central St Martins College of Art and Design. He visited the college last week on unrelated matters.”

The star was recently seen on the front row of the Vivienne Westwood A/W11 show in Paris wearing a rather fetching leopard bomber jacket. In the past the rappers sometime madcap looks have caused a stir. Remember his diamond ‘grill’? Kanye is a well known fashion lover. He has even designed before, lending his skills to brands such as Louis Vuitton and Nike.

We’re genuinely sad that the All of the Lights singer won’t be attending uni in London to hone his style-design-skills. We totes would have hung out with him. Maybe even modelled for him in his final show. Disappointingly, this remains a dream.
